Position Overview
Category Buyer plays an important role providing a comprehensive procurement service in accordance with the company financial regulations, in support of the procurement strategy as aligned with the company priorities. Provision the procurement section in the development of a robust strategy. Support the Procurement Manager and Lead Category Buyer in arranging suitable contracts and supply agreements for the goods and services required by the company. Confirming that goods and services are delivered in accordance with the order instructions and ensure an efficient service is provided to the end user.

Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance
  • Master’s degree (Nice to have)

Professional Experience

  • Around 1-4 Years of experience in Supply chain management
  • Computer proficiency, Microsoft Office software (Mandatory)
  • Willingness for travel

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Procurement Manager and Lead Category Buyer in raising the profile of Procurement within the organisation.
  • Encourage and influence to ensure areas of spends, direct and in-direct, channelled through Central Procurement.
  • Support the Procurement Manager and Lead Category Buyer in arranging suitable contracts and supply agreements for the goods and services required by the company.
  • Actively engage and manage own supply base of suppliers and contractors.
  • Establish internal relationships with all service areas, identifying key areas for review driven by stakeholder requirements.
  • Build Strategic alliances with key partners to enable long term partnerships to practice.
  • Handling complex category spends for complete end to end procurement
  • Engage with outside sources of information that is the suppliers and contractors to be seen as sources for ideas and innovation.
  • Maintain the service level agreements and contracts for all requirements constantly
  • Ensure that all procurement activity and tender necessities are in agreement with the company’s financial regulations and comply with the latest Directives.

Travel Requirements: Category Buyer requires 45% of travel based on organization standard policies.

Seniority Level: Entry Level

This position will be typically reporting to Category Manager of an organization.

Salary ranges depending on the experience. Typically, Category Buyer will be paid Rs. 3, 50,000 – Rs. 5, 50,000 annually.
