Position Overview
A Category Purchasing Manager is a professional who is accountable for managing a group or category of products for an administration. The role of a category manager is also comprises the pricing an overall advancement of the product category so that it entreaties to the consumers. He / she drives planned finding initiatives where they are defined centrally by the GCM if compulsory, or autonomously where they are locally possessed. They enact the group end-to-end Procurement cycle as per corporation’s guidelines and manage supplier presentation and contracts for all locally achieved categories and sub-categories within their nation whilst also ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a comparable role. Proven executive experience is a bonus.
Professional Experience
- Maintain prescribed and business relations with sellers.
- Facilitate application of procurement change creativities within category to improve commercial presentation.
- Progress best procurement performs to lead and manage gaining teams.
- Develop and uphold expert knowledge of individual global supply markets, competitors and produce innovations.
- Build strong association with customers and ensure purchaser satisfaction.
- Provide assistance to company’s acquisition strategies by completing the due diligence and integration activities for the spend categories.

- Developing group policies and category strategic plans, with initiative plans, for locally achieved categories, validating them with the Worldwide & Regional Category Manager/s and the individual internal purchaser/s
- Conducting strategic sourcing creativities, including fact based discussions for all locally accomplished categories within the local nation selection and ensuring process acquiescence and high levels of customer gratification
- Supporting global strategic sourcing enterprises or projects (including category strategy definition) as official by the Global Category Manager
- Identifying supplier risk areas and enumerating risk exposure for regionally and locally achieved sub-categories within Group Portfolio and executing risk extenuation movements

Travel Requirements: Category Purchasing Manager requires 30% of travel to its supplier locations.

This position will be typically reporting to the Senior Category Manager of an organization.
Salary ranges liable on the experience and involvement. Typically, Materials Manager will be paid Rs. 4,0,000 – Rs. 6,50,000 Annually based on experience.
