Position Overview
Commodity Manager predominantly works in creating, executing and maintaining a commodity inventory strategy for an organization supply chain management. Effectively works closely with the supplier teams for ensuring stable supply chain process for the organization. Performing decisive character in commodity management on complete procurement practise, Commodity manager make sure about company purchases and structure of purchasing commodity with respect to current market trends from organization perspective. Mitigating of market risk effectively on timely manner, responsible for the managing the team for making productivity of the resources. Overall a versatile and cross functional Leadership quality to be executed well maintained consequently.

Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management
  • Master’s degree (Preferred)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management (Added Advantage)

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 Years of experience includes at least 2 years of Managerial experience
  • Experience with any Business Management software
  • Experience in Supply chain is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office including Project Management software (Mandatory)

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Understanding business needs to generate information, schedule, and deliveries at the right time.
  • Managing various procurement projects that include the areas of sourcing, contracting and category management.
  • Manage team in purchasing related activities when needed and evaluating supplier operation with organization standards and compliances.
  • Design and implement strategies for supply chain management considering cost risk factors primarily following by effective risk minimization and mitigation.
  • Collaborate with vendors’ team ensure timely delivery of the products and assuring the quality of the product.
  • Researching on service providers co-competitors for the amenities, charges and quality of the product on regular basis for suggesting marketing trends to the management.
  • Taking owner ship of creating contract proposal within allocated budget from organization and working towards signoff procedures.
  • Negotiate prices when needed & managing changes in the order.
  • Taking ownership in induction programme for training new hires.
  • Drive productivity initiative for the assigned commodity , launch virtuous affiliation with suppliers and maintain high level of professional expertise.
  • Motivating team for identifying tools for commodity tracing using technological procedures as per current market trends.

Travel Requirements: Commodity Manager requires 35% of travel

Seniority Level: Mid Senior Level

This position will be typically reporting to the Top Management of an organization.

Salary ranges depending on the experience. Typically, Commodity Manager will be paid Rs. 7, 50,000 – Rs. 10, 50,000 annually.
