Position Overview
We need a procurement specialist for finding goods and services for the company at the best value regarding quality and price. They should choose the type of goods procured with the underlying duty of meeting budget constraints to increase profitability. Additional duties of this position include assisting the research analysis and preparation of contracts and working closely with top level management teams as well as outside vendors to meet project requirements. The procurement specialists may progress into a managerial, executive or directorial position as per the requirement of the company.

Academic Qualification

Master's degree in a related field preferred or Graduate Engineer.

Professional Experience

Extensive experience of developing business specific contracts and agreements.
Outstanding knowledge of software license terms and regulations.
Thorough knowledge of facility management solutions.
Familiarity with purchasing fundamentals.

Roles and Responsibilities

Identify the suitable suppliers of goods and services and supervise the entire budget estimation and sourcing operations.
Negotiate the best terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, expectations, etc.
Cooperate with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods
Creating purchase orders and tally those with supply requests and orders
Analyse all the invoices to make sure that the accuracy of goods delivered
Maintain inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive
Contract management is the most important aspect of being a procurement specialist. They negotiate contract renewals, place effective bids to obtain the business of new vendors, discuss pricing, and monitor all aspects of the terms of a contract.
Attend various meetings with the legal department to ensure any contractual obligations are favourable to the company
Work side by side with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements
Not only current needs but also projecting future needs is done by them, they strategize with various departments and suppliers to ensure the organization’s future needs will be seamlessly met.

Flexible to work long hours as such demanded by projects
Able to travel to meet vendors and suppliers as needed

The salary depends on the experience of the profession. However, typically the average salary of a procurement specialist is Rs.4 lacs to Rs.5 lacs annually.
