The campus is located in Athens, Alabama, USA. Athens is a city in Limestone County, in the U.S. state of Alabama. Limestone County Alabama is located in the **Tennessee Valley with the Tennessee River** running along the southern end of the county and the** Elk River** defining the southwest boundary.

 

Athens State University is a **public upper level university in Athens, Alabama.** Thirty-three different majors are offered to junior and senior students. Athens State’s Logistics and Supply Chain Management program **focuses extensively on management information systems that are a key critical enabler of efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness. **The program’s faculty, both full-time as well as adjunct, remain active in logistics programs through their leadership of organizations and programs in both the private and public sectors. Students will learn how to plan and forecast demand for products and services and gain an understanding of operations involving the movement of materials from raw materials for production to providing the finished product to the end consumer. After gaining an understanding of the supply chain function, students will learn how to manage the logistical movement of goods and products to include the transportation and services involved. An emphasis will be placed on understanding these functions within the government setting.
