Located in the eastern part of the Ontario province in Canada, Belleville is situated on the eastern end of Lake Ontario and mouth of the Moira river. It is between Ottawa and Toronto on the Quebec City-Windsor Corridor. This city because of its geographical location, has four distinct seasons – all of them mild - so we can safely say that the city has a pleasant climate throughout the year. Some of the famous landmarks in this city include the Bay of Quinte – known for sailing and fishing, Shorelines Casino – a popular gaming spot, Glanmore National Historic Site – an ornate, antique filled mansion of the 1880s and Tyendinaga Caves – a naturally created picnic spot.

The Loyalist College was founded in 1967 as a part of the provincial initiative to provide career-oriented diploma and certificate courses, as well as continuing education programs to Ontario communities. The main campus of this institute is located in Belleville and it also has a satellite campus in Bancroft, also in the Ontario province.  The college is also a member of the Project Hero, a scholarship program for the families of fallen Canadian Forces members. The college has a good number of both local as well as international students, thus providing a multi-cultural environment at its campuses.
