About Institution
Royal Holloway College's fabulous Founder's Building was disclosed by Queen Victoria in 1886 – it’s still the principal point of the university grounds. In 1900, the universities converted to a part of the University of London and in 1985 they combined to form what is now known as Royal Holloway. It’s positioned in 135 acres of parkland in Egham, Surrey. This is 19 miles away from central London and 7 miles after Heathrow Airport. Our slogan  ‘Esse quam videri’ meaning 'to be rather than to seem'. We were ranked 19^th by the Times and Sunday , 24^th by the Complete University Guide 2021 and also was ranked in the top 300 universities in the world by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2020.
