The capital city of the Canada – Ottawa is sitauted in the eastern portion of southern Ontario province. It is located on the south bank of the Ottawa river there. In terms of population, it is the fourth largest in the country. Carleton University, a public comprehensive university in Ottawa was founded in 1942 as Carleton College, a private non-denominational evening college to serve veterans retuning from the Second World War. It became a university by the lgislations in 1952 and the amended one in 1957 which brought its curent name. It is namde in honor of Guy Carleton, 1st Baron Dorchester, who served as Governor General of The Canadas from 1786 to 1796. This university has recognized for its excellent faculty in the fields of

Journalism, Political Science, Legal Studies, Public Policy and Administration, Humanities, Aerospace Engineering, International Business Computer Science, and Humanities.

It also has the honour of producing 6 Rhodes Scholars, 29 Royal Society Fellows, 20 recipients of the Order of Canada, 8 Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship awardees, and 3 National Killam Award recipients.

Not to lag behind in sports, this university’s men’s Basketball team which goes by the name of Carleton Ravens, has won seven consecutive National Championships between 2006 and 2017.
