Transportation Specialist

Position Overview
Transportation Specialist is responsible for cultivating relationships with outside customers to ensure transportation is transported per customer needs. He will be analysing vendor procurement needs and arrange transport capacity resources to assign in a localised business the specialist is also responsible for implementing and streamlining good practices and processes.

Academic Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, supply chain or related field preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED is compulsory 

Professional Experience 

  • Five (5) years of experience required in transportation operations, logistics, transportation industry, or related area.
  • 2+ years of client service and/or shipping delivery experience

Professional Certification

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Recognize suitable routes and means of Transportation taking into consideration of goods, costs and transportation times.
  • Orchestrates strategic plans/projects to assure adequate cost and service measures are maintained concerning the business problems
  • Responsible and maintains vehicle projects ensuring shipments are picked up and delivered to final destination under customer delivery requirements
  • Utilizes Programs to plan and maximize external carrier capacity, minimize cost, and ensure flexible solutions for specific areas.
  • Prepare routine reports for customers outlining carrier’s performance and shipment activity; utilize data to look for opportunities to improve services provided.
  • Add to delivery services plans to modernised IS methods and improved customer experience end-to-end from ordering to tracking and delivery
  • Database management experience with ERP will be added advantage 

Competencies 

  • Co-lead cross-functional program groups and manage market's implementation or migration to new solutions.
  • Has the ability to manage time in an efficient manner and also multi-tasking skills to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and shifting choices, while maintaining a huge set of business and capability to accomplish weekly assignments 
  • A self-starter who loves data working in data and finding the trends in the system
  • Displayed experience of using large amount of data to drive root cause avoidance and process improvement.

Travel Requirements: This position requires 40% of travel.

Seniority Level: Mid-Level Senior

Salary ranges liable on the experience and involvement. Typically Purchasing Assistant will be paid 7, 00,000 – 9, 00,000 annually based on experience.
