First thing first, CSCP Learning System is a must to prepare and succeed in the CSCP examination, without which reading the below may not be beneficial.
In this post, we are going to discuss how to use the Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Learning System to effectively prepare for the CSCP examinations conducted by APICS, USA. I am presenting this based on my experience in teaching and successfully produced several certified professionals across the globe.
In CSCP, you must go after the knowledge and the certificate will be the by product and it doesn’t work other way round. CSCP learning system contains two components. One, a set of textbooks and the other is the online tool. So, spend good amount of time in reviewing the textbook and the online component of the learning system. Many ask me what is that good amount of time means? I would say, anywhere between six to nine months, by spending at least 2 hours on daily basis.
I would recommend a Cycle System. First, you read a chapter in the textbook, then practice the corresponding quiz in the online tool. Once you complete the quiz, review the answers irrespective of whether you answered it correctly or not. Because sometimes the reason why you have answered it correct may not be the real reason behind the correctness. Hope you get it. And then go to the specific page in the chapter and review the material that corresponds to the question. This is called one cycle. Likewise, you need to do at least three times for each of the chapter to gain a mastery and to conquer CSCP. But don’t do the three cycles of the same chapter immediately one after the other. I would recommend a temporal spacing of at least 15 days (but, not more than a month) between two cycles of the same chapter so that it would result in a good revision.
For CSCP there are no shortcuts, but rather it is the perseverance and continuous reading habits will pay the result. When you attain CSCP, you have acquired a world-class qualification and you will never look back in your supply chain career.
