Business Capability analysis provides a framework for scoping and planning by generating a shared understanding of outcomes, identifying alignment with strategy, and providing a scope and prioritization filter.

The term Business Analysis has been in existence from the early period of time. On a daily basis, it is practiced by all whether knowingly or unknowingly. The concept of business analysis came in to existence in to an organization in the year 1940 when the first programmable computer has been evolved. Data storage was enhanced user friendly and interfaces have been introduced. As a result, the demand for the business analysis for the software programmers has grew significantly. Business analysis was usually called as system analysis and the role was typically focused on software engineering. Over the last decade the importance of business analysis, has really been recognized as businesses seeks more on technology solutions to solve the business problems. It is able to solve the problems that do no even require the technology changes, especially in the areas like business process improvement and organizational changes. The concept of business analysis are important ate the initial stage of the project to define the business requirements.

The Business Analysis Capability describe the ability of an enterprise to act on or transform something that helps to achieve the business goal and the objective. As long as an enterprise continues to perform similar functions, the business analysis capability required by an enterprise should remain constant. The business analysis capabilities are mainly assessed for the performance and associated risks to identify specific performance gaps and prioritize the investments in the business. The business analysis capability technique is used by the product development team to improve the performance of the existing business. The concept of this technique will give impact on increasing the revenue, reducing cost, improving service, achieving the goal, and positioning the company for a better future. The business analysis capability for the current state and future state of the company can be determined easily.
