CBAP Preparation

CBAP Certification can be attained only through hard work and there are no shortcuts. Mastering BABoK v3 is the success route to attain CBAP. Fhyzics through its Classroom or Online training and through its Learning Management System imparts an intensive training to the participants. CBAP is not for the light-hearted ones. CBAP is a moderately difficult examination and hence that high value it enjoys across the globe among the business analysis professionals. Fhyzics recommends a preparation cycle that has helped its hundreds of CBAP certified professionals to succeed in this envious examination.

The preparation cycle consists of three stages. The first stage is mastering a chapter by going through BABoK v3. The second stage is practicing the articles, exercises, case studies and explanations provided in the Learning Management System (LMS). And the third stage is taking the quizzes in the LMS. The purpose of the first stage is to deeply understand the concepts learned in the classroom, the second stage is to get a practical perspective of those learnings and finally the third stage is to validate those understandings and learnings in alignment with BABoK v3.

To attain success in CBAP it is recommended to complete three cycles for each of the chapters. Hence it would be 3 Cycles x 11 Chapters = 33 Cycles. For each of the chapters the first cycle will take a good amount of time, but the second and the third will be much faster. In total at least 3 months would be required to complete the preparation by spending at least 3 hours per day on average.

CBAP Examination

You can take the CBAP Examination anywhere in the world at Prometric Testing Centres. Please click here to find out the list of Prometric Centres across major cities in India. CBAP Examination is an online, objective type examination. You will be answering 120 questions. Each question will have four options and you must select the most appropriate one. The questions will be a mix of direct and scenario or case study-based ones. The scoring range is 300 to 800 and one need to secure 500 and above to pass the examinations. You may have a question that how many correct answers will make the score 500? This information is not publicly available but based on my experience in teaching hundreds of successful CBAP students over the past 10 years, I can say it would be about 80% correct answers. This is purely my opinion, but it works. At the end of the examination you will get the result and in about a few weeks you will receive the CBAP Certificate.

CBAP ReCertification

Many students mistake the word recertification as reappearing for the CBAP examination. Recertification refers to the certification maintenance process. Your recertification period starts from the moment you pass the CBAP examination. Once in every three years, you must submit 60 Continuing Development Units (CDUs) to IIBA to maintain the certification. CDUs can be obtained by attending conferences such as National Conference on Business Analysis conducted by Fhyzics every year, teaching business analysis to a team in your organisation, attending webinars etc.
