Position Overview
Deputy Head of Procurement has global responsibility for the acquisition of goods and services, as well as the selection of the vendors and provides procurement leadership across the organization. Inaugurates overall Procurement Department and strategies which regulates prioritizes, estimates, and succeeds procurement necessities and prospects. Moreover, in partnership with functional areas develops and enhances IRD’s operational procedures and policies for procurement, sub award management, subcontracts management and issue policy communiqués. Complete in charge of the contracting services and may manage the purchase of supplies, equipment, and material constantly without much deviation with agreed strategies.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management
- Master’s degree (Preferred)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management (Added Advantage)
Professional Experience
- Minimum 15 Years of experience includes at least 4 years of International Experience
- Experience with any Business Management software
- Microsoft Office including Project Management software (Mandatory)
Professional Certifications
- Certified Inventory Optimisation Professional (CIOP)
- Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level-4)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Create supportive working relationship among all procurement program components.
- Develops, implements, and continuously improves sourcing processes.
- Designs and gears the strategies for get the most out of the value attained for business partners, and provides leadership and proficiency in market analysis, supplier management, negotiation, project management, and facilitation.
- Provides leadership for a global Procurement Department and works to assure compliance with FAR and other Federal purchasing and procurement regulations.
- Acts as the liaison to tie operating companies objectives with the overall corporate sourcing strategies.
- Works meticulously with Compliance and Audit units to synchronise procurement compliance audits and policy input; and other duties as assigned.
- Interact with Legal to ensure all contractual terms and conditions are approved and corporate risk is minimized.
- Facilitates work across departments and business units to develop common requirements and business processes in order to leverage key suppliers and overall supplier portfolio.
- Acts as the key person in the organization having responsibility for driving sourcing savings: analyses metrics and builds programs to deliver improved performance.

Travel Requirements: Deputy Head of Procurement requires 35% of travel
Seniority Level: Director
This position will be typically reporting to the CEO Chief Executive Officer of an organization.
Salary ranges depending on the experience. Typically, Deputy Head of Procurement will be paid Rs. 40, 50,000 – Rs. 46, 50,000 annually.
