Located in the southern part of the west Canadian province of Alberta, Calgary is situated at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers and is the most populous city in this province. Based on the population counts of the city in 2016, it was the second largest Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) in Western Canada and fourth largest CMA in the country. Calgary also has the distinction of being the first Canadian city to host the Winter Olympics in 1988. It experiences a humid continental climate which is characterized by warm summers and cold, dry winters. Some of the attractions in this city are shopping areas like The Core Shopping Centre, Stephen Avenue, Eau Claire Market and other important landmarks like Calgary Zoo, Telus Spark (a science museum), Glenbow Museum and  The Art Gallery of Calgary, Heritage Park Historical Village and Calaway Park to name a few.

The University of Calgary is a public research university located in the Alberta province in Western Canada. It started in 1944 as the Calgary branch of the University of Alberta and became a private, autonomous university in 1966.  This institution is one of Canda’s top research universities and is a member of the U15, an association of top 15 Canadian research universities. This university is said to have around 25000 undergraduate and 5000 graduate students studying various courses at its centres. It also has around 170000 alumni spread across 152 countries the world over.

The Haskayne School of Business of the University of Calgary offers the Bachelors of Commerce course with specialization in Supply Chain Management. The benefit of this course is that in addition to the regular Commerce subjects in the first year and you opt for SCM major, you get the benefit of both the commerce as well as SCM specialities. Some of the subjects taught as a part of this course include

Economics, Statistics, Strategy and Global Management, Business Studies, Supply Chain Management Analysis, Logistics Management to name a few.
