Situated in the British Columbia province, Surrey is at the south of Fraser River and north of the Canada-United States border. Kwantlen Polytechnic University (shortened to KPU) is a public degree-granting undergraduate polytechnic university in British Columbia, Canada. This institution was initially founded in Kwantlen College in 1981 and based on an amendment to the University Act the name was changed to the current one and it started functioning with the new name from September 2008. It has campuses at Surrey, Richmond, Langley and Cloverdale. It has a total student strength of around 20000 and faculty strength of 1400 spread across its four campuses. KPU became a member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) in October 2008. It also has affiliations with International Association of Universities (IAU), the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), and the Canadian University Press (CUP).
The Operations and Supply Chain Management Post-Baccalaureate Diploma program offered by the School of Business of KPU enables the students to learn how to apply fundamental business management concepts together with specific tools and techniques – quantitative and qualitative – that have been successfully tested in the numerous and varied OSCM fields in the real-world situations. The duration of this program is two years, and the candidates have the option of completing it earlier by taking it in an accelerated form. The faculty use student-focused, result-oriented and innovative teaching methods which ensure that the topics taught are easily understood by the students.
