Singapore, officially called the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign island city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. The country's territory is composed of one main island, 63 satellite islands and islets, and one outlying islet. The country is home to 5.7 million residents, 61% (3.4 million) of whom are Singaporean citizens. There are four official languages in Singapore - English, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil; with English being the common/trade language. This country has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinctive seasons, uniform temperature and pressure, high humidity, and abundant rainfall. While temperature does not vary greatly throughout the year, there is a wetter monsoon season from November to February. The M.Sc. (Supply Chain and Logistics) program offered by the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of the NTU
equips graduates with the right set of skills to manage end-to-end order fulfillment, including procurement and inventory management.
The program also provides the candidates an appreciation of the role logistics functions, such as distribution, warehousing and transportation, play in facilitating the supply chain. The program relies intensively on industry speakers, site visits, case studies and hands-on computer modeling and game plays to support in-class learning. Faculty for this course are professionals with enormous experience in both academics and industry, who use novel methods to put across the topics they teach to the students.
