CERTIFICATE IN GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT Program
Overview:
Supply chain management focuses on the network of companies engaged with co creating value in ways that meet the customer or final consumer demands. Every organization in the network is a supplier to the endpoints of demand satisfaction. In today’s business climate, supply chain management, as an interdisciplinary field, has gained broad acceptance by both academics and practitioners.
Supply chain management is considered a core discipline in business/industrial engineering education that draws heavily upon expertise in operations management, strategic management, marketing, logistics, transportation, information technology and supply management.
CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS:
The Global Supply Chain Management certificate requires a minimum of 15 credits of coursework, consisting of nine credit hours of core courses and a minimum of six credit hours from the list of approved elective courses. A 3.0 GPA in the 15 completed hours is required to earn the certificate.
REQUIRED COURSEWORK
Nine (9) credit hours
- MANGMT 4010 (3 CH): Operations Management. Managerial analysis of operating problems, with emphasis on planning and control systems.
OR
- IMSE 4350 (3CH):Production and Operations Analysis. Quantitative methods for forecasting, scheduling, and production control in manufacturing and service systems.
- BUS AD 4500 (3CH) OR IMSE 4910 (3CH): Internship in Supply Chain Management. An industry-based learning experience that provides opportunities to apply supply chain management skills, concepts and theories in a practical context.
- MANGMT 4070 (3 CH): Supply Chain Management. An examination of the concepts, processes and institutions that are fundamental to an understanding of supply chain management in a global environment.
