Position Overview
Major task of Strategic Sourcing Director in an organization is to maintain company portfolio ensuring transparency of spending, generating and implementing efficient sourcing and category management strategies. Investigating and computing costs of procurement and propose methods to decrease expenditure. Determining between suppliers and products or services involves cautious investigation because acquiring varieties have a direct effect on operational costs. A director of strategic sourcing prioritizes purchasing initiatives, establishes policies and objectives, and defines the company’s key sourcing strategies.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics, Finance
- Master’s degree (Preferred)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management (Added Advantage)
Professional Experience
- Minimum 12 - 15 years of experience with at least 5 years of extensive Sourcing managerial experience
- Implementation experience in Supply chain management.
- Hands on experience in any sourcing software
- Operational acquaintance in ERP in relation to material procurement system
- Computer adeptness with Microsoft office
Professional Certifications
- Certified Inventory Optimisation Professional (CIOP)
- Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level-5)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Establish the vision, strategic roadmap, anticipations, yearly and long-term intentions for global procurement
- Design and perform global sourcing strategy to attain on-going year over year substantial expenditures savings targets and to confirm an on-going competitive benefit
- Performing continuous research to realize company's operations desires and requirements.
- Build relationships with vendors and key suppliers and develop a yearly budget depending on sourcing needs.
- Negotiate pricing and control costs
- Establish intelligence for analysing the market trends to enable the team for making suitable results
- Execute supplier management programs with suppliers, including the development of performance metrics and reviewing regularly
- Graft thoroughly with the Business Units to design and align commodity road maps leveraging innovation
- Prepare and distribute a monthly commodity key performance indicator reports
- Provision new product growth projects through the New Product Introduction Process and script sourcing documentation and statements,
- Contribute to internal stakeholders on vendor activities where business requirements are not being met
- Retain Industry market trends, best practices and follow relevant guidelines and regulations
