Industry Process:
Usually, strawberries are grown in a soil which has a pH of 5.0-7.5 and it should not be grown continuously on the same land where other plant species are cultivated. The operation begins with seeding, where the seeds get differ based on the variety. Nutrients, irrigation and vermi composting should be done in a regular basis. Basically, strawberries take four weeks to six weeks to attain a maturity stage, where the plant can able to grow up to 45 cm to 70 cm (based on the variety type). Then, after attaining the maturity stage, the strawberries are allowed for harvesting either through manually or automatically. Finally, the harvested strawberries are undergone for sorting according to its standard and then, they are distributed for sales and distribution.
