Position Overview
The Transit Specialist works with multiple internal partners such as logistics, worldwide transportation teams, legal counsel, and demand/supply teams, and with external domestic partners such as 3rd party vendors, customs, ocean, carriers, legal, implement, and control all processes related to the consistent flow of the ocean, air, and surface traffic to/from foreign destinations, which includes ensuring of regulations of concerning goods.

Academic Qualification 

  • Undergraduate degree in operations management, International Business or related field, or equivalent experience is required.

Professional Experience

  • five years of experience working with shipping, harbour terminals, customs brokers, and steamship lines
  • A minimum of two years of expertise conducting accident examination processes.

Professional Certification

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Complete understanding of transit arrangement transactions, including fixed-route program improvement, vehicle deployment schemes, transit assistance cost/benefit examination, analysis, and construction of fare options
  • Have an understanding of the Transit Preparation process including, its design, development, strategy, assistance and financial evaluation techniques
  • Have experience making federal, state, and/or provincial grant demands for capital and/or operating schemes
  • Daily monitoring, analysis, interpretation, and interaction with internal/outer parties to promote the timely transportation of in-transit cargoes
  • Investigation privately to identify component sourcing and production processes and make decisions of qualification for free trade agreements
  • Analysis and file applications associated with damages happening during worldwide shipping

Travel Requirements: This position requires 15% of travel.
