  1. Machinery mechanics:
The duty of a machinery mechanic is to keep the machineries and equipments fully operational by performing necessary maintenance activities like frequent cleaning of the machineries, refilling of oil and coolants, lubricating the necessary parts etc. Machinery mechanics are not involved in advanced diagnostics. Any diagnostic they perform is only through visual inspection.
  1. Maintenance technicians:
The main difference between a mechanic and a technician is that technicians focus more on the diagnostic side of maintenance. They diagnose the issues using computers and other instruments and determine the cause of malfunction. Once the diagnosis is complete the technicians can themselves perform the repair or in some cases mechanics are assigned the task.
  1. Millwrights:
Millwrights focus on machinery mechanics. Not only do they perform repair and maintenance works but they also install, assemble, dissemble and move assets within the facility.
