This helped many low to moderate workers who struggled to get loans from the existing commercial banks. Over the years, these institutions started getting bigger. They started providing even more products and services. Specialized lending products is possible in this system. Cost efficient delivery and the economics of specialization are two important factors these banks rely on. Keeping this in mind they offer products and services that would typically be unprofitable for commercial banks as they rely more on relationship banking and focusing on selling services to every single customer.
