Manufacturing Process:
Vermiculture is a process involved in production of fertilizers or vermicompost, which are majorly used for developing plant growth, improving soil health and engaged in enhancing other agricultural activities. The vermicompost product consist of various nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, and zinc. Preparing compost bin or tank is the first production process involved in manufacturing vermicompost and the bin need to be placed in an ideal temperature between 55 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, the paper strips and water are added according to the requirement or either sand can be added instead of paper strips. Then, organic biodegradable wastes and decomposed cow dungs are allowed in the bin for fertilizing process. After adding the bio waste, earth worm species are released over the mixture and then, the bin is covered by using paddy straw or gunny bags. The water needs to be sprinkled in daily basis in order to maintain moisture in the bin. Then, the bin is closed and covered by thatch roof to prevent from entry of lizard, snakes, mouse etc., The bin needs to be checked frequently to avoid the compost from overheating and to maintain the accurate moisture and temperature. Finally, after completion of 56 days vermicompost will be made as a final end product and then, they are packed for sales and distribution.
