Grapes for Wine making are grown in may places across the globe. Mostly the name to the wine is given based on the grape used to make it. The blending of different wines to produce unique flavors is part of the wine making art. Viticulture is the name given for the process of growing these grapes. Once the grapes are grown, they are harvested. Some wineries use Mechanical Harvesting Tools to collect the produce. The most common practise to harvest is using labour to manually pick the grapes. Wineries are often located in close proximity to vineyards. Grapes are usually transported in refrigerated trucks. Once the grapes reach the Winery, they are put in a crusher. The holes in the inner drum of the crushers allow the grape skin and juice to pass through. The stems are kept inside the drum. The crushed grapes and juice are called must. Then fermentation occurs in fermentation tanks. For some type of grapes, first the mast is made to pass through wine presses. Sugar and Yeast is added for fermentation to occur. Depending upon the type of wine required, the sugar and yeast quantities vary. The fermentation takes about two to four weeks to complete. Once fermentation is complete, skin and yeast is removed. For some type of red wines, an additional process called Malolactic Fermentation is required. Then the wine is aged by the manufacturer as per the requirement. Once it is properly aged, they are ready to be bottled and packaged for sale.

An operator pumps the wine from the storage unit to the bottling machines. After it is filled, next a corking machine is used. After the bottle is corked, aluminium foil is used to seal the neck. Once the label is also stuck, they are arranged in trays and ready for shipping.
