The Industry comprises of retailing sectors involved in window treatment such as curtains, drapes, shades and blinds. Curtain and drapery stores, packaged Window treatment stores come under the banner of this Industry. Curtains are used for to control the amount of light entering the room. They are also important aesthetic features considered in fields like interior designing.

Basswoods are used to make window blinds. It’s lightweight, durable and absorbs wood stain easily. They are cut using planers. Laser guidelines are used to trim of the excess wood. A straight line rib saw is used to square the piece. Then they are sliced  to thin dimensions. Now they pass through an oscillating sander to prepare them for staining. Once they are cut in sizes as per the width of the window, wood paint is sprayed on both sides of them. Then a sealer is sprayed and allowed to dry for a while. They are sanded and then a final protective layer is provided. Using a die, two slots  are punched on every piece. These are for the chords that will hold together the blind. Ladder tape chords are hung, assembly takes place here. Each piece is slid and the assembly is done. A head rail is attached. This consists of the locking mechanisms. This is how wooden blinds are made.

The first step in making Curtains is the cutting of fabric to the required dimensions. To make sure the cutting is precise and the patterns are intact, vertical automatized cutting equipments are used. Then lining is provided. The bottom ends and side ends are blind stitched. Joining and taping is done in one motion to provide consistent stitching. Then the pattern is matched and joined. Hems are stitched and the folding of fleets and headings take place.
